INSTALL: Full Trim Kit for Ford Transit
Last updated: November 3, 2026
How Do I Install a Full Trim Kit in a Ford Transit?
Install a Ford Transit trim kit covering B-pillars, bulkhead, and D-pillars in 2–4 hours using self-tapping screws and 1/4-20 rivnuts. Position each trim piece, secure fasteners into headliner struts and mounting flanges, adjust weatherstripping for a flush fit, and tighten all bolts securely with Loctite on all fasteners. Your Transit interior gets a finished, polished look across all pillar locations.
Before You Start
Vehicle: Ford Transit High Roof

Drill with a 1/8" bit (front pilot holes) and a bit sized for 1/4-20 rivnut clearance (rear)
Rivnut tool
Primer (for any drilled/exposed metal)
4mm Allen wrench
Self-tapping screws
3M VHB mounting tape, or Sikaflex 221 adhesive as an alternative (plus a stick or brace to hold it while it cures)
Multi-tool (only if you've relocated your wiring harness and need to notch the driver-side piece yourself)
Provided mounting hardware, included with each kit
What's included — Front Kit: Driver-Side B-Pillar Trim, Passenger-Side B-Pillar Trim, Bulkhead Trim, all required mounting hardware. Rear Kit: Top D-pillar trim piece, driver-side trim piece, passenger-side trim piece, all required mounting hardware
Installation Instructions
Front Trim Kit (B-Pillars & Bulkhead)
Fit the passenger-side corbel. Set it in place over the factory foam blob — it's designed to fit right over top without disturbing any factory components.
Work the weatherstripping around the tab. This is the trickiest part of the install; once it's seated you'll feel it pop into place with a solid, no-flop fit.
Pilot-drill and fasten. Drill an 1/8" pilot hole through the tab into the van wall — it's hardened steel, so self-tappers won't bite without a pilot hole — then drive the self-tapper in.
Repeat for the driver-side corbel. Same process, but instead of fighting weatherstripping, you're routing the piece's notch over the wiring harness. (Relocated your harness? Cut the notch yourself with a multi-tool.) Pilot-drill and self-tap the same way.
Position the bulkhead piece. Measure in 4-1/2" from either side and 1-1/2" in from the edge to land on a flat section, then dry-fit it through the plastic piece, the headliner, and into the upper strut.
Mount the bulkhead piece. Use two runs of 3M VHB mounting tape, or Sikaflex 221 adhesive as an alternative — if you use Sikaflex, brace it with a stick while it cures. Make sure the front edges plane out evenly for a clean finish.
Screw it into the headliner. Struts are a softer metal, so a pilot hole usually isn't necessary here — just screw up through your pre-drilled holes. Prefer mechanical fasteners over adhesive? Drill a 1/4" hole through and install a rivnut instead.
Rear Trim Kit (D-Pillar)
Test-fit the kit. Hold each piece in place against the D-pillar and mark your mounting holes using the kit's factory hole pattern.
Drill and rivnut. Over-drill the mounting holes for 1/4-20 rivnut clearance, prime the holes, and install the rivnuts (M6 hardware also works if you're sourcing your own).
Thread and snug. Thread the bolts in finger-tight, then snug them with a 4mm Allen wrench — don't overtighten.
Install the top piece. Route the factory wiring harness up and out of the way, then push the top trim piece into place, keeping it tight.
Bolt the top piece in. Using the provided hardware and a 4mm Allen wrench, bolt through into the rivnuts — two bolts on top, plus as many as you need along the sides.
Move to one side. Tuck the wiring harness out of the way and push the weatherstripping in nice and tight so it isn't conflicting with the panel.
Install the side panel. Set your wall paneling in place behind the trim piece's flange, then bolt it down along the mounting flange.
Repeat on the opposite side. Route the harness, seat the weatherstripping, and bolt the second side piece the same way.
