How to Install the GoCode FOLD Shower | Complete Install Guide

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Overview

Installing the FOLD shower starts with your cabinet, not the unit itself. You're cutting a precise opening and a drain penetration before the pan ever goes in. This guide covers marking, cutting, and mounting GoCode's FOLD Shower into a cabinet cutout, plus setting the drain.

Before You Start

  • Application: Any van, trailer, boat, or RV with adequate wall space. Compatible with Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster builds

  • Kit: GoCode FOLD Shower

  • Mounting location: Cabinet or wall unit cutout, with approximately 3" of clearance behind the unit for plumbing at ~27” from the floor.

  • Estimated installation time: 1-2 hrs

Note: this video and guide cover cabinet prep, the cutout, and the drain penetration only. Plumbing is covered in a separate, upcoming video.

Tools & Materials

  • Drill (for the exploratory hole and the drain hole)

  • 3-1/8" hole saw bit for the drain penetration

  • Straight edge and square

  • Tape measure

  • Included: Pre-installed Shower Port System (quick-connect hose, mixer valve, and shower head mount), Scandvik 1.5" straight drain fitting, zipped mesh storage pouch, shower curtain, wood screws

Installation Instructions

  1. Drill an exploratory hole. Before committing to a cutout location, drill a small hole and check underneath for anything in the way, such as brake lines, fuel lines, struts, or other mechanicals. You want clear, factory floor for your cutout. Additionally, consider a clear path to a grey tank should you chose to use one.

  2. Mark your cutout. The FOLD body measures 23-3/8" wide. Cut your opening 22" wide so you have room to get the mounting bolts in, with a little tolerance on each side. Cut the height at 30-3/4".

  3. Mark your drain centerline. Draw a straight line across the front of the mounting surface to mark the back of the flange. Measure in 11" (half of your 22" cutout width) and square a center line down from that point.

  4. Locate the drain hole. The base of the pan is 3-1/2" deep. Measure 1-3/4" off your mounting-surface line to find the true center of the drain hole.

  5. Cut the drain hole. Use a 3-1/8" hole saw. The hole needs to be larger than the 1.5" drain pipe itself so the drain head has somewhere to sit.

  6. Set the unit in place and fasten it. Sit the FOLD body into the cutout and secure it to the wall with wood screws.

  7. Install the drain assembly. Drop the drain's metal piece in from the top so it seals to the bottom of the unit. You can install the full drain assembly onto the unit before tilting it into place, or do it after, with a second set of hands to help.

  8. Confirm the mount before moving to plumbing. Once the unit is face-mounted to the cabinet, with the cutout and drain assembly in place, you're ready to run your hot and cold plumbing lines.
