How Do I Install a Pressure Fill Inlet?

A pressure fill inlet lets you fill up your fresh tank from a campground spigot or hose bib at full city-water pressure, instead of gravity-feeding through a deck fill. This guide covers mounting GoCode's Pressure Fill Port through the wall and servicing its built-in check valve.

Before You Start

  • Application: Any van, RV, or marine build with a wall or panel to mount through

  • Kit: GoCode Pressure Fill Port

  • Mounting location: Wall or panel, or wherever you want your city water hookup

Tools & Materials

  • Drill

  • Phillips bit

  • 7/8” or 1” fastener or hole saw bit

  • What's included: City water inlet body assembly, rubber gasket & metal gasket, rubber washers/O-rings, back-plate mounting screws, check valve (installed) & strainer, retaining ring, metal hook

  1. Identify location. Identify a location that sets an ideal trajectory for plumbing into the holding tank fill port.

  2. Mark and drill. Drill out center of fill port to either 7/8” or 1” using a hole saw or forstner bit.

  3. Pass the inlet through the wall. Feed the city water inlet shank through your wall mounting hole, then place the rubber gasket and metal gasket in sequence.

  4. Snug the nut. Tighten the nut until the water inlet is snug without shaking, then tighten the two auxiliary screws.

  5. Secure the back plate. Tighten the three screws on the back plate of the water inlet flange.

  6. Connect your plumbing. The inlet side is female 3/4" GHT (garden hose thread); the outlet side is male 1/2" NPT.

The inlet ships with a check valve, rubber gasket, and strainer already installed and ready to use.

Replacing the Check Valve

  1. Remove the retaining ring. Use the included metal crochet hook to pull out the white retaining ring.

  2. Pull the old check valve. Remove the non-working check valve.

  3. Insert the new check valve. Pay attention to direction — the front and bottom aren't interchangeable. The front must face outward for the check valve to work properly.

  4. Reinstall the retaining ring. Snap the raised part of the retaining ring into the groove, then press the other end inward into the groove to lock it back into place.

How the Pressure Fill Inlet Fits in Your Water System

The pressure fill inlet connects to the fill port at the top of your fresh tank. Water then leaves the tank, passes through the strainer, and goes to the pump, which pressurizes your lines.
