Last updated: October 29, 2026

How Do I Install Mounting Brackets and Straps on a GoCode Water Tank?

Install your GoCode tank brackets by setting the tank where you want it, marking and drilling the bracket locations, fastening the brackets, then feeding the included straps through and cinching them down. Every interior tank order includes the mounting brackets and straps.

Before You Start

  • Kit: Mounting brackets and straps, included with every interior tank & Pundmann water heater

  • Mounting location: Against a wall or cabinet surface where a strap can pass under the tank without hitting anything

  • Estimated installation time: ~10 min

Tools & Materials

  • Drill & screws

  • Marker

  • Tape measure

  • Mounting brackets and straps (included)

  • Optional: small wood block for extra support

Installation Instructions

  1. Set the tank in its final spot
Position the tank exactly where you want it, pushed back to the wall. Pick a spot where a strap can slide under the tank without getting in the way of anything.

  2. Mark the bracket locations
Note where the tank sits compared to the wall. Hold the top bracket with the bottom of the bracket bearing down on the tank, the holes against the wall, and the flap pointing up. Push up on the tank and mark your holes.

  3. Drill the holes
Pull the tank back and drill pilot holes at your marks.

  4. Install the brackets
Fasten the brackets in place using screws.

  5. Feed the straps through
Hold the strap in the orientation you want and feed it through the bracket flat. Feed the same loop through at the bottom.

  6. Buckle and cinch
Place the buckle where you want it, feed the strap through the back of the buckle, and cinch it down.

  7. Add a block if needed
If you are still worried about the tank moving, add a small wood block in front of and behind it.
