INSTALL: Water Tank Heater Pad

Last updated: October 29, 2026

How Do I Install and Use a GoCode Tank Heater Pad?

Wipe the tank with alcohol, let it dry, and stick the heater pad to the lowest point of the tank, where most of the water sits.

Peel-and-stick adhesive and a slim profile let it mount to the outside of most tanks. Installed correctly, it protects holding tanks up to 50 gallons. With steady power, a built-in thermostat does the work: it switches on when the tank drops to 45°F (5°C) and off at 68°F (20°C). Add ann optional toggle switch to shut it off by hand when temps stay above freezing, when the tanks and lines are empty, while dumping, or when winterizing.

Before You Start

Tools & Materials

  • Alcohol and a clean cloth

  • Heater pad

Installation Instructions

  1. Find the lowest point
On a right hand tank, most of the water sits on the right side, so the pad goes low on that side.

  2. Clean the surface
Wipe the tank down with alcohol and let it dry.

  3. Peel and stick
Peel the backing and place the pad nice and square.

  4. Check the whip
