How to Install Sprinter Mid-Window, Innie Pocket Trim Rings & Flare Trim Rings | Complete Install Guide

Overview

Install three Sprinter trim ring types in .5-2 hours each: mid-window trim, innie pocket sleeper pair, and flare trim ring pair. These rings go around mid-cabin windows, sleeper pockets, and flare locations. Use self-tapping screws or thru-bolts to mount trim to wall panels. Each trim ring gives your Sprinter interior a custom-finished appearance with consistent trim lines.

Before You Start

  • Vehicle: Mercedes Sprinter

  • Kit: GoCode Mid Window Trim Ring, Innie Pocket Sleeper Pair, & Flare Trim Ring Pair

  • Mounting location: Driver-side mid window opening; rear window openings on both driver and passenger side ("innies"); and the flare/pod/capsule opening on both sides

  • Estimated installation times

    • Mid: 0.5-2hrs

    • Innies: 0.5-2hrs

    • Flares: 0.5-2hrs

Tools & Materials

  • Self-tapping screws (for temporary mounting) and a piece of 1/4" plywood as a backer

  • Measuring tape

  • Marker or pencil

  • Jig saw

  • Bolts or self-tapping screws (not provided)

  • Clamps

Installation Instructions

  1. Temporarily mount the piece. Set the trim ring (mid window, innie, or flare) in place and hold it with self-tapping screws backed by a piece of 1/4" plywood — this lets you micro-adjust position before committing to anything permanent.

  2. Index it to a body line. Slide the piece up or down until it lines up with a standard body line on the van, and use that as your reference.

  3. Take your top measurement. Measure about 3-1/8" down to the top of the piece, on both sides.

  4. Repeat on the back edge (innies only). For the innie pockets, take the same measurement on the back — this gives you a second reference line.

  5. Transfer measurements to your wall panel. Use these reference points to mark the cutout on the back of your panel, then cut the panel to size.

  6. Through-bolt and install. Bolt through the piece's flange into the panel and install the panel and trim ring as one finished unit.

  7. Repeat for each piece. The mid window trim ring is driver-side only; the innie pocket sleepers and flare trim rings install the same way on both driver and passenger side.
