How to Install Sprinter Vanspeed Capsule Trim Ring Pair | Installation Guide

Overview

Install Sprinter Vanspeed Capsule trim rings in 30–45 minutes using 1" self-tapping screws. These trim rings fit around the 144" wheelbase Sprinter's A-pillar area and provide a finished look while protecting trim edges. Locate the B-pillar, position the ring trim, and secure with screws into the headliner strut. Two trim rings per kit cover both driver and passenger sides.

Before You Start

  • Vehicle: Mercedes Sprinter - 144" High Roof only

  • Kit: Vanspeed Capsule Trim Ring Pair

  • Mounting location: Capsule window openings in the wall panel

  • Estimated installation time: ~30-45 minutes

Tools & Materials

  • GoCode's included paper template (skip this if you're using a Serg Supply pre-cut wall panel — see note in Step 1)

  • Marker or pencil

  • Clamp (optional, to hold the template or panel in place while tracing or cutting)

  • Cutting tool for the wall panel opening

  • Drill bit (for pilot holes, optional but recommended)

  • Self-tapping screws

  • 1/4" backplane material (included in the Serg Supply kit, cut to fit the ring's flange)

Installation Instructions

  1. Trace and cut your opening. Use the included paper template to mark the cutout, then cut the opening in your wall panel. If you're using a Serg Supply pre-cut wall panel instead, this step is already done for you — their openings come cut to the trim ring's profile.

  2. Set the panel and check alignment. Set the panel on a clean, flat surface, line the trim ring up with the opening, and use a clamp to hold it in place if you're worried about it shifting.

  3. Mark and drill pilot holes (optional). Mark your fastener locations, then drill a pilot hole at each one for extra insurance before fastening.

  4. Fasten the trim ring. Drive a self-tapping screw through the ring and panel at each marked point — snug, not overtightened. A handful of screws is enough to hold it; add more if you want extra hold.

  5. Finish the backside. Cut your 1/4" backplane material to fit behind the ring, using the ring's flange as your guide. This lets you finish the inside of the capsule with any material you want, without dealing with the window's compound curve.

  6. Repeat on the opposite side.
